Ridgely Evers – Founder
Ridgely is a veteran entrepreneur who has been CEO of companies in the software, real estate, investment, online media, and consumer products industries.
In 1988 he joined Intuit – then a small startup – and led the creation of QuickBooks.
In 1990 he imported olive trees from Italy, the first brought into the US in the 20th century. He and his wife, chef Colleen McGlynn, then founded DaVero Farms & Winery, today one of the country’s most highly-regarded producers of extra virgin olive oils, Italian-varietal wines, and other artisan food products.
A lifelong supporter of America’s small business community, he was recruited to serve on the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. He also serves on the board of SCORE, a nationwide organization providing counseling services to small business owners, and is active in a number of local organizations in Sonoma County.
He earned a BA in International Relations, with distinction, from Stanford University, and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. He holds several patents, and has been writing software since 1967.
He has led the development of Captina, writing both the spec as well as much of its over 130,000 lines of code.
Tracey Welch – President
Tracey is a recent transplant to the wine country, but has a long background in business. A CPA by training, she worked as an auditor for Price Waterhouse Coopers, then spent several years leading complex business software integrations for their clients. In parallel, she and her husband have had a successful marketing company serving small businesses.
She was drawn to Captina because of her broad business knowledge, starting in the role of Director of Client Services. But she quickly grew into her current role as President, overseeing every aspect of our sales and support, and personally training each new customer. She’s as passionate as Ridge about great support, which is why we add just one new customer at a time.
David Lents – Lead Engineer
David is one of those rare engineers who “gets” the whole problem, from user interface all the way down to the bits and bytes. Reading his bio is like looking at a laundry list of Internet technologies, which is understandable given that his career spans over 20 years — all of it deeply enmeshed in the Internet. David is always at work advancing the program, and makes sure our servers are humming.
We are constantly looking for feedback and new ideas. Much of that comes from our users, but we’re proud to have a potent advisory group that keeps us on our toes.
Tammy Boatright is the founder and president of VingDirect, an exceptional consultancy focused on helping wineries grow DTC sales. She has a deep history in direct-to-consumer marketing, and shares her knowledge both through VingDirect as well as at WISE Academy and industry conferences.
Tara Sharp is a Sonoma County native, and has spent her entire career in and around wine and specialty food. She built and launched brands for Kendall-Jackson, a number of specialty food companies, and Captûre Wines which she co-founded. Today she is Director of Marketing for Sonic.net.
